Just read an article in the Independent about three siblings who were beaten, separated and abused as they were trying to get into Poland from Ukraine. Their crime? They are from Congo (just an aside, this is what the article said, not the Democratic Republic of Congo nor The Republic of the Congo - there is a difference. You'd think journalists would be interested in accuracy at least). The article also said that people all around them protested their treatment even while they were also standing in line to be allowed in to safety. At least I am glad to read that. But those Polish border guards need to be sacked. Racism needs to die its anachronistic death and we need to speed it to its end by whatever means we can.
