I am an American living in Britain and I have been bombarded with the F word that rhymes with maggot. It's a large meatball made of chopped offal wrapped in shredded intestines. I think it tastes just as revolting as it sounds but my British husband is a huge fan. I've educated him about the connotations of the word in America but he reminds me that we live in Britain. He cringes when I say anything is 'bloody'. I don't use the R word (neither does he). He doesn't use the C word and we now call the F word 'an offal meatball' and we're both satisfied with the meaning. We learned from one another and we grew, we modified, we adapted and neither offends the other or any other within hearing at least purposefully. It's that simple isn't it? Let's be adults and be kind to one another. Thanks for your article!
