I agree wholeheartedly. It is, as you say, about taking responsibility for f***ing up and then doing everything we can to learn how not to do it again; being aware of the institutional nature of racism and calling it out; not supporting those companies and/or institutions that support inequities of any sort; and finally spreading the word much like an evangelical, to do better, be better and act upon what we see. This teacher, as all people, can be redeemed but not if she is 'killed'. That's the difference we need to live, to reach out and change what doesn't work, what never worked and build a better world for everyone. Her consequence should be to teach anti-racism and to use herself as an example of what is unacceptable behavior and belief.
