Absolutely excellent article. Too many people have accepted the 'there, there honey, let the big doctor handle it' approach that doctors can sometimes take. Doctors are human and make mistakes. One surgeon nearly killed me. I learned my lesson and now ask questions and run a mile if they are evasive, paternal or smile at my concerns be they pain control or any other issues. I wish I'd learned that lesson much earlier. It would have saved me and my family a lot of agony. Thank you for this.
